Diabetic Fight Back

A diabetic's diary: I have Diabetes Type 2! What now?

About Me, and this Blog

Hi. My name is Charles, and I have Diabetes Type 2.

This seems like a weird introduction to who I am, but my diabetes is the reason I am writing this post – to encourage me to be more conscious of my diabetes, and share some of the things that I am trying to do to reverse it.

That’s right – I said reverse it! I don’t want to manage it or live with it. My goal is to get rid my diabetes – and in the process sort out some of the health issues I have that have led to me having diabetes in the first place.

This might be the only well structures blog post that I write within my diabetes blog – because mostly I want to treat my blog as a work book – where I can record my blood sugar readings, the things that I am doing to reverse my diabetes, and the progress (or lack of progress) that I am making.

If you have diabetes type 2, then like me you will often come across articles on the web or elsewhere that offer promise, or theories about the route cause of diabetes and what we can all do about it. I plan to share any such articles I happen upon with you. I would appreciate it if you would do likewise. I guess that in general I’m hoping to get encouragement by sharing with other people with diabetes type 2 – by sharing what I am doing about it on my own behalf.

  1. Hi, I don’t think that’s a weird intro. I was diagnosed with Type 2 only a few months ago and already I’m feeling this thing is defining me rather being a sub-clause as to who I am.
You didn’t say how recently you’ve been diagnosed or what method you are using to treat it. I got myself a blood monitor recently because I don’t think that a 3 monthly blood test is useful in tracking my progress.
Most recently I started a blog about food and how to eat well for less but that’s kind of gone out the window since most low cost food is the worst for you when you have diabetes. So I’m going to checking out so food tips and recipes that work best for optimum glucose levels.
    Good luck with your mission.
